Hi Community,
I would like to inform you about some changes that have been made and some plans for the future.
Melee Range
After we had decreased the melee range, fights were partly impossible. We are really sorry, that it took so long to change the range again. We again have increased the range to the standard of the official servers. Furthermore you shouldn't encounter the out-of-view anymore. One can nolonger make it impossible to be attacked by strafing and/or jumping around.
Darkness Falls
There have been many rumors about Chthonic Knight Ukobat to go up even to the lowlevel areas of the realms. These rumors have been empowered by comments on Allakhazam's description for that Knight. After having that path implemented for 2 days, we removed it again and adjusted it to Ukobat's original route, because the rumors emphasized as wrong.
Legion has gotten a new atmosphere feature, that has no influence on the gameplay. The blazing flames from Darkness Falls have disappeared, so the bosses in DF should be easier to raid. In contrast some highlevel monsters have become stronger. Be careful!
We also have plans for the items in Darkness Falls, especially the bosses' items. As many of them are unfortunately worthless in the times of spellcrafting, we will change the item qualities. Most items of the princes, highlords and the other bosses will get an equal quality with the best spellcrafted items.
Overall many features and dangers in Darkness Falls may change in the future, but as we saw on Chthonic Knight Ukobat wrong information can become a fun-killer. Sorry again for that!
Trifekta
We have decided to remove some items from the Trifekta item pool, as we have adjudged them for being bossmob items that should not be received without a danger by a friendly NPC in the beginning cities. The following items have been removed from the pool:
* Luminiscent Ceriac Stone * Luminiscent Exerpise Stone * Luminiscent Exeregum Stone * Cauldron of Vivifying Water * Vial of Heavenly Breezes * Torch of Innovation * Dust of Creation
To balance the amount of drops, we have added the basic mounts to the pool. There will be added some other items in the future. The price for a Trifekta game is now again 1g.
Trophies
Finally we implemented the missing ingredients for the trophies, that the taxidermists need. They can be bought at the Alchemist apprentices near the ordinary alchemy merchants. If you notice any bugs, please inform us either by using the bugforum or /report them ingame.
Tajendi
Our two crocodiles are working on the second part of their event "Tajendi". I don't want to tell you too much, but to say it as a person who can follow the Tajendi development: WOW! I'm looking forward to the release! ;)
Quests
There is a new Questsystem for Game Masters, which allows to create Quests ingame. Until now quests had to be hardcoded what was both complex and ineffective. It will take some time for the worldbuilders to learn the commands, but we will now focus our worldbuild on quests. This means leveling will become more enjoyable.
Character settings
This is not a current change, but many of you don't seem to have noticed it already: The mood that you can give your character in the customization screen was not saved, so sadly all characters had the same expression in their faces. Since 2 months the mood is saved, so if you like to customize your characters' mood, go for it now! :)
That's it for now. There will be more but shorter news the next times. Enjoy the game and have fun! |

We're starting the new week with some manifold changes. At first I want to thank Nevrast, who left us during the past week due to a lack of time, for his work in the project. We wish you all the best for your future! We have 2 new staff members: Wally and Keaz. They are both in their trial phase and will focus on support and worldbuilding. I hope for a nice teamwork! ;)
Bugfixes/Changes
We succeeded in disarming lagstrafers. It won't be a problem to hit your enemy any longer, while he is in your field of view. Fights should again be more fair.
Some players complained about receiving wrong material from salvaging. Both Midgard and Hibernia players received material from Albion. We have solved this problem, too.
Another pretty nice change is the bugfix of the so called "wallhits". It is no longer possible to attack enemies without a line of sight.
As some of you may have noticed, we're working on the range for melee fights. There was one problem coming up after the first change of the formular: The z-axis was also calculated, what caused huge range differences while running through Agramon for example. Hills were often the reason for players unable to attack the enemy. We adjusted the formula again and hope to have it correct now.
Rule changes
We have edited the rules again. To make the gameplay friendlier for the community, we established limits (caps) for the effects of all buffs and spells. This includes amongst other things damage shields, heal over time spells and health regen buffs. They improve the character only marginally more than those of supporters of your own level.
Thus we could remove the old rule §2.9 (powerleveling and buffing/healing prohibition). It is now allowed to help other players leveling in every manner. For example a level 1 supporter is now allowed to level with a level 50 fighter. Of course this is only allowed, if each character is controlled by a different player.
Due to the wallhit bugfix the old rule §5.4 became dispensable. It is now allowed to attack any enemy through all walls and windows, as long as the game engine enables it.
Furthermore, I wish you a lot fun on our server!
Greetings, Nayru |

| [19.05.2008] Oh horses, where art thou? |
|

Welcome to this week's news!
After a busy week with several bug fixes concerning realm abilities and the heal-aggro system (which didn't work for quite some time now) we'd like to present you some general news as well as a couple of answers regarding grab-bag questions.
First of all - some bad news: the implementation of the advanced horses will be delayed. Basically, the system is almost complete...but we also want to use this system to introduce a new (and easier) way of creating quests directly in-game. This system should enable our world-building GMs to easily and efficiently implement quests. So, we're asking for your forgiveness because this prolonged waiting time will bring some noticable improvement for the future. In order to stimulate RvR in Agramon we are going to re-introduce an experience bonus for this zone. (Nayru already mentioned that in the forum.) However, since we want to link the bonus to the effective danger of different areas in Agramon we need to find some "code magic" which might take a little time.
Let's turn to your grab-bag questions. Please note that we combined some similar questions. (Side note: We're mainly working on the horse system with the corresponding quests. Additionally, there are the usual bug fixes going on.)
Question: What's the progress on the last Cabalists' and Enchanters' caster pets? Answer: The pets will be implemented in time but our attention is currently the horse system..
Question: What's the status of the Classic zones and what are your plans regarding SI zones? When will they be available? Answer: As far as drops/items are concerned the Classic zones are fully implemented. As you have already heard we are currently adding monster abilities and details to the atmosphere. SI will be the next step once our work on the Classic zones has been completed.
Question: Are you going to implement crafting and delivery tasks? Answer: At the moment there are no plans in this field but it has been added to our to-do list with a low priority. This also applies to crafting quests.
Question: Do you have any plans for RvR dungeons? Answer: No. Fact is that RvR dungeons besides Darkness Falls would pull players out of the main RvR area. There's no alternative solution, yet, but since this seems to be a common request we'll have to deal with it some time in the future.
Question: When are you going to do the next event for the whole community? Answer: The problem with events for everyone (all levels and realms) is the level of difficulty. There are some rare exceptions like the snowball event. Currently, we are working on a Trollheim event. However, you'll probably need to be about level 40 to effectively take part in it.
Question: Are there any plans to change Agramon? Answer: As already mentioned there will be an experience bonus for Agramon. There is some further development - but since it's only in the early stages we don't want to give you details, now.
Thanks to anyone reading the text this far. :P
Have fun in-game!
Regards, the staff |

| [17.05.2008] Hello Mr. Grabbag! |
|

Hello,
for today we have got some short news and want to launch a grabbag. For those who are not familiar to the term "grabbag" we are going to explain it now. A grabbag is a collection of players' questions answered by the staff, but how does it work?
- you ask exactly one question - it should be a reasonable question - you send your question via forum pm to "Haldan"
Please be sure that your questions are comprehendible. Our grabbag will be launched erratical time intervals and you will have the opportunity to ask us your questions by the week-end.
Have fun forming your questions,
sincerely, your staff |

| [12.05.2008] The sunny monday news |
|

Suunshine, suunshiiine reggaaae ...
this week the news got quite short. Due to the very very nice weather and a lot of reallife activities we can not give you a great amount of news this week.
Over the time several bugs have been fixed and GM Teams have been built to implement special monster abillities. That means that many monsters in each realm will get overhauled step by step in the near future. So you as a player can learn the following sentence from now on: "Ok, I never died this way once!"
The quests for the horses are almost done. But they will only be given to you as the complete system which includes the horses has been finished. So please be patient.
We wish you many fun in game and possibly at the beach or in the open- air bath.
Your Staff |

| [05.05.2008] Monday Late Night News |
|

After having a turbulent weak due to patch 1.9 we are very happy to have finished a few things beneath 1.9 bugfixing.
Item-bonus system and item level-restrictions
At first the more or less unpopular but needed changes. During the last week many players mentioned that some of their equipment did not deliver boni anymore. The reason for this is the newly implemented item-bonus system which was missing for a too long time. All "magical items" will be influenced by the system meaning that they will no longer deliver any boni if the item-level is by far higher than the players level. Besides we are going to implement an item level-restriction system. Usually top-items like dragon drops are items with level-restrictions. If you want to find out if your character will be able to wear a certain item in future we suggest you to look up allakhazams item database.
Trophies and guild houses
It took quiete some time, but now that it is done preperators/taxidermists in capitol cities will offer you their help to make a trophy out of some monsters remains. These trophies could of course be placed in the soon available guild houses - we're already excited who will have the nicest guild house.
General News
As you already know we are currently busy working on the horse system. Our primary question was how to categorize the horses to best fit into Uthgards concept and we are now going to give you a short overview.
Tier1: The currently known lvl35 horses. They will boost your speed by 135%, but won't be available within rvr zones.
Tier2: The thouroughbreds are the lvl45 horses. These horses will not be available within rvr zones too, but will boost your speed by 150%. You need to finish a quest in order to be allowed to buy such a horse.
Tier3: The war horses. Their name says it all - horses available in RvR zones boosting your speed up to 150%.Of course you will have to work hard for the right to use such a horse. You need to finish a quest in order to be allowed to buy such a horse.
Tier4: Magical horses. There is not much known about these horses and the chance to achieve one will be quiet low
Finally we want to announce the monster abilities. Players of the realm Albion have been able to "test" the new monsters. Soon these monster abilities will be introduced to the rvr zones, so be aware brave heroes of your realms.
We wish you a lot fun in game
Sincerely, your staff |

| [28.04.2008] Same procedure as _every_ Monday, James! |
|

Even the toughest troll likes 'em - right, horses!
Our work on the salvaging system has been completed last week and the system got introduced successfully. We'd still like to mention that there is a chance of wrong values for one item or the other. If you find something amiss please contact one of the GMs. Another change affects our housing system. From now on, you can sell your houses to other players. You can find detailed instructions (and some notes on what to take care of) in the Housing Tutorial.
Improved Mounts:
Let's start with the real news. Throughout the next one or two weeks we are going to work on the horse system. Usually (i.e. on live servers), access to horses is granted by Champion Levels. Since Uthgard doesn't support them we are in need of a replacement. Our idea is to provide you with a series of quests which will offer you special tasks in the mainlands and - later on - in Agramon.
General News:
As already mentioned above you're now able to sell your houses. However, guild houses are still missing. So, if you come across a bewildered lurikeen with some woodman's tools chances are that it's Baldrug!
Recently, many mobs in Lyonesse have received some upgraded special abilities. Lyonesse is only a cornerstone of enhanced mob abilities. Other zones and realms will follow on short notice.
So, once again we're hoping that you enjoy your time playing on our server!

The official european servers will update to version 1.90 today. We will change the minimum on Uthgard to 1.90 in a few days. Please update to v1.90 as soon as possible!

| [23.04.2008] Monday (erm...Tuesday) News |
|

Once again it's Monday (Tuesday actually ) so this means -- Newstime!
As you might guess from the banner above we are heavily working on Uthgard's salvaging system. We don't want to forget to thank all players (and most prominently Kronos and Monty) for reporting all items which currently don't salvage for correct amounts of material. The salvaging system is supposed to be completed in the course this week, so we already want to give you some information:
Salvaging:
All items (except for DF items) will be handled by this system. The system is a slight variation of the known live servers' ROG (Random Object Generation) system. More specifically, this means: division into small, medium and large items. You can find a listing with the amount of material that you can expect from an item in Motog's Salvaging Guide. Please note that some minor adjustments might be necessary (as always).
General News:
As soon as possible - following the completion of the salvaging system - we want to concentrate on another highly desired feature: improved mounts. In addition to those features we are permanently working on optimizing your Agramon experience. This is also one of our main tasks at the moment.
To answer some calls regarding transparency of our work (and in the same time to answer possible questions) we are planning to copy Mythic's grab bag feature. We don't have any details, yet, but the basic idea is to answer some of your questions which haven't been dealt with in the forum. So, please remember to check there first ( )!
We also want to mention that we're noticing an increase in negative attitude of some community members towards the staff. We want to make it clear that this project is being done "for free" by sacrificing our spare time! (Well, maybe sacrificing isn't the correct word because Uthgard probably wouldn't exist if we saw no fun in it. But this is the main factor - fun. We do encourage well-funded criticism but we won't accept any harsh and unfounded accusations against members of the staff!
So, let's hope for an uneventful week and have fun in-game!!
Sincerely, your staff |
